How to make malai kofta at home | Malai kofta recipe by Sandipta's Cookery

Malai kofta is a north Indian dish. Originated from the Mughlai cuisine. Malai koftas are melt in the mouth fried dumplings of cottage cheese/ paneer napped with in a creamy smooth curry. Malai kofta is the best vegetarian dish alternative to meatballs. It goes extremely well with naan or Jeera rice.

Preparation time - 20 minute

Cooking time - 45 minute

Serve - 3

Ingredients -

For kofta -

1 cup Grated paneer

1 cup Mashed potato

1 tsp Chopped coriander leaves

½ tsp Chopped ginger

1 Chopped green chili

1.½ tsp Cornflower

Salt to taste

For temparing -

1 tsp Refined oil

2 tsp Butter

1 stick Cinnamon

1 Bay leaves

2 Cloves

2 green cardamom

1 tsp Shahi jeera

For gravy -

1 cup Chopped onion

1 tsp Chopped green chili

1 tsp Chopped ginger

1 tsp Chopped garlic

⅓ tsp Turmeric

1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder

1 tsp Coriander powder

½ tsp Cumin powder

½ tsp Crushed fenugreek

½ tsp Sugar

2 cup Chopped tomato

2.½ cup Water

Salt to taste

Procedure -

For making kofta -

1.In a bowl,mix all ingredients mentioned under " for making kofta".

2.Make medium size balls or oblong shaped and fry the koftas in medium hot oil,till little golden brown.

3.Keep aside the fried koftas.

For gravy -

1.In a pan pour 1 tsp refined oil along with 2 tsp butter.
